Wiimote Whiteboard
Multi-touch interactive whiteboards are a valuable asset to any classroom.  However, their prohibitive cost puts them out of reach to far too many teachers.  With just a little know-how and the right equipment, you can now use Nintendo's Wii remote to create an interactive whiteboard in almost any environment with a projector!

Software and Instructions - There can never be too much said about Johnny Chung Lee, the developer of the software for the Wiimote Whiteboard.  His website, with videos and downloads, is here.  The software is FREE.

Equipment - The interactive whiteboard still requires some new equipment.  Penteractive.us provides excellent equipment specially fabricated to work for a Wiimote Whiteboard in an education setting.

Folding@home
This Stanford protein modeling project is a great way to show students how protein modeling and research is happening in the "real world".  The PS3 software is an amazing visualization platform, while the simpler clients allow students to contribute to the distributed computing network.  PC and Mac computers can also run visualization clients with the right (and high end) hardware.
